Fixed-sized viewer window

Description of the problem: The axes of the viewer window adjust down to any rectangular area, which can inconveniently reduce the active area of the viewer.

Steps to reproduce: Zoom in on any moving object whose bounding box is not a square, or select an area of interest with the mouse (left-button drag).

Expected behavior: The viewer window should fill the space left by the other UI elements and have constant size.
