!!! I don't know if it's because I have a bad wire or the unit itself is defective. carlisle_: did you install the drivers from the manufacturer? tomreyn: yes. maybe look into dmesg for any errors. yeah, looking now what software are you running, too? it's Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS and which driver is installed, too? lspci says Intel which? how do I know which one? it's integrated i think lspci | grep -i driver 00:02.0 Display controller: Intel Corporation Atom/Celeron/Pentium Processor x5-E8000/J3xxx/N3xxx Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) good, so intel it's not an optimus chipset yeah don't think it is that's good then does your system log say anything about kms / acceleration on your video chip? maybe you'll get more information by posting the last 10 or so lines of this dmesg log to a pastebin kms? or are you using the latest bios / kernel? (maybe not actually, but probably) let me check that on bootup it goes through the bios checks, then for a moment it is orange then goes back to the login screen then on the login screen it says "Waiting for network configuration" then it hangs there for a long time okay, then this should be doable, just a second, please k doing dmesg, rebooting now can you post the last couple of lines of the log?
